Fall Prevention Center
Let us help you get your life back.
We understand the fear of losing your balance and falling can rob you of precious moments.
At the Fall Prevention Center on Mule Road in Toms River, NJ, Dr. Jessica Coladonato, PT, DPT, who is certified in Vestibular Rehab and Concussion therapy through the American Institute of Balance, will thoroughly evaluate your symptoms and listen to your concerns. She will assess your equilibrium by testing your vestibular, visual and muscular systems to find the root cause of your problem and ultimately, identify risk of falling. She will come up with a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan to reduce your risk and allow for safe and dizzy-free return to the activities you love.
This includes treatment for those suffering from:
- Vertigo
- Meneire’s Disease
- Post-Concussion Syndrome
- General dizziness

- Weakness in the lower extremities
Balance Terms
Vestibular System: a sensory system that provides sense of balance and spatial orientation for the coordination of movement and balance. This system is divided between the brain and the inner ear.
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV): A condition in which otoconia is displaced into the semi-circular canals of the inner ear. This causes the sensation of vertigo (the sensation of spinning).
Otoconia: Small calcium carbonate crystals that are housed within part of the inner ear. They help us sense acceleration and gravity.
Epley maneuver: A series of head positioning maneuvers that help to reposition the “crystals” of the inner ear. This is a widely successful treatment for those suffering with BPPV.
