Mike tore his ACL playing basketball at Gettysburg College early in his junior year. After surgery, he went for his first physical therapy appointment. That was the day he knew he would become a physical therapist no matter what the cost. He learned so much that day watching his physical therapist work around the room answering all the patient’s questions. His physical therapist was educating, using his hands and problem solving. This was a seminal moment in Mike’s life. “I am so glad that I tore my ACL as it led me to this career.”
Once he graduated Gettysburg in 1997 with his BA in Health and Exercise Science, he continued his education at MCP Hahnemann (now Drexel University) and graduated in 1999 with his Masters in Physical Therapy.
Mike started Atlantic Physical Therapy Center in 2001 after 2.5 years working for another physical therapist. In 2013, Mike and his former boss became business partners growing Atlantic Physical Therapy Center by 5 offices. Mike is currently the President of Atlantic Physical Therapy Center and the Director of Clinical Operations and a practicing physical therapist in the Freehold office.
He never stops learning and perfecting his craft as he has continued his education throughout the years. He has earned a Certificate in Applied Functional Science (CAFS) from the Gray Institute as well as learning different techniques to mobilize soft tissue including Myofascial Decompression (MFD) and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).
In his free time Mike loves anything that is outdoors on the water. His latest hobby is stand up paddle boarding. He has also formed a family with his wife Lauren. Together they have 3 beautiful daughters and live in Wall Township. “These 4 girls are my greatest joy in life”.
